And by Journalist I mean he kept journals. He started in the late summer of 1954. I am not sure exactly when he stopped but I think it was sometime after 2010 - it might have been as late as 2014, meaning he kept journals for 60 years or very close to it. There are also the sketchbooks - at least 60, or about twice as many volumes as his journals. But they are a topic for another time.
On our last trip to the house I brought back a fairly random sample of his journals. They are volunes 1, 2, and 3; volumes 8 and 9; volume 14; and volume 17. I will post a few pages chosen a little less randomly - I have looked for fairly typical entries but also times in his life when things were happening.
